Some ties remained strong and some have gone away. Some friendships will never be the same and some have been restored. I recall a neighbor that have left an indelible mark upon my life. I am reminded of a blessing who unexpectedly crossed my path and discovered that I have found my long lost twin. I am grateful for those who are not seasonal, but will continue to be a constant until the end.
A tire swing may just be a piece of useless rubber tied to a rope and hung over a tree branch. So what's so special about that? You may be that new neighbor who just moved into a strange neighborhood, looking for a friend. You may even feel a little useless and think no one cares. But then one day, you decide to walk around your neighborhood, and you see a tire swing tied to a majestic tree. You see someone swinging upon it. And that someone becomes a great friend for life! No longer do you feel useless and lonely, but now you are tied forever in friendship. There is always a reason for every connection that happens. The beginning of any friendship starts somewhere special. You will have that special place locked up in memory. Whether that friendship remains or changes, be thankful that it had a beginning. This makes you forever tied to your tire swing.
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
(And pity the friend that has on one to push on the tire swing.)
Ecclesiastes 4:10
