Blessing 262 - Aperture In Napa

I was on a photo project to practice my aperture priority mode (the shooting mode of pro outdoor photographers). But the rainy weather did not play in my favor. Elyssa and I decided to find refuge from the wetness inside an old cafe in Napa. Within, we took several shots on Av mode and these two pictures turned out pretty well. What were we exactly trying to accomplish? We wanted to capture a frontal image to be in focus while the background stayed out of focus. Here were the results:

My hat in focus while I was totally out of focus.

Elyssa in focus while background out of focus.

So many things during our drive to Napa were trying to keep us out of focus with the Lord. Distractions, emotions, and even the weather kept us in discontent. We both needed in be in "Av Mode" in order to stay focussed on what was important. After all the distractions, we finally got settled and focussed upon God's word. Praise God!

Even though I was frustrated with the way my camera was performing or not performing, God gave us a lesson about being in focus while everything else around us was out of focus.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
